Plant Based Diet To Fight Wrinkles

According to a recent national survey completed by Allergan, Inc., a global pharmaceutical company based in Ireland, approximately sixty percent of women ages 21 to 65 years old said, that “they would rather have a younger-looking face than a younger-looking body”.  The survey only shows that facial beauty is of much concern by most women today starting with a wrinkle-free skin.

The good news is, experts are claiming that it is not too late to say goodbye to expensive creams and procedures to get rid of unwanted or even premature appearance of wrinkles. Though aging is indeed inevitable, there is a key to fight wrinkles and other skin problems. The key is to eat healthy and do it consistently right.

Here are some plant-based diet recommendations and anti wrinkle foods to start with;

Regular consumption of green leafy vegetables

One of the best sources of anti wrinkle foods are broccoli and broccoli sprouts, spinach and mustard greens. Aside from being rich with natural fibers, multivitamins and antioxidants, these vegetables will keep your skin hydrated and healthy. Vegetable extracts and juices are also easy and practical preparations so that the nutrients can easily be absorbed by the body.

Include Omega fatty acids from healthy oils

Walnuts, chia seeds, flaxseeds, coconut oil, olive oil and avocados are among the anti wrinkle foods found in plants and fruit trees. They provide a balanced proportion of omega 3, 6 and 9 to keep your skin well hydrated from inside and out since these oils will become part of the walls of the skin cells.

 “If the skin cell walls are plump and healthy, the skin will look more hydrated and dewy as well,” said Paula Simpson, a nutricosmetics formulation expert and beauty nutritionist.

Cut out inflammatory foods.

“Foods that create inflammation are pro-aging,” said Dr. Frank Lipman, an integrative and functional medicine physician and author of “The New Health Rules.” Avoid processed, nix packaged and food products from fast foods, gluten, dairy and sugar rich foods.

“Eating too much sugar will make you more prone to wrinkles and make you age quicker,” Dr. Frank Lipman added.

The fight against wrinkles can be won

Natural aging process may continue uncontrollably, but the battle against premature skin aging is a war we can win by seriously considering plant-based diets and continue consuming these anti wrinkle foods and recommended diets.
