What is Matrixyl 3000 Made From

Matrixyl 3000, developed by the Sederma Corporation, is made up of two matrikines peptides, Pal-GHK (palmitoyl oligopeptide) and Pal-GQPR (palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7). These work together as antioxidants to fight the damaging effects of aging on the skin. Together they stimulate the matrix molecules (collagens and fibronectin) and enable Matrixyl 3000 to reduce wrinkles. Matrixyl 3000 is a white gel with a pH between 4.0 and 6.0, and a water content of 30%.

Pal-GHK is a short chain of three amino acids that are connected to palmitic acid, a fatty acid that improves the chain‘s oil solubility and skin penetration. It is a collagen molecule that detects any decline in the skin matrix. GHK stimulates new collagen synthesis.

The other component of Matrixyl 3000, Pal-GQPR, is a short chain of four amino acids that is also connected to palmitic acid and works similarly to the Pal-GHK above. It also reduces interleukin-6 production, keratinocytes, and fibroblasts. This substance won‘t promote inflammation or degrading of the skin matrix, either of which can lead to wrinkles and sagging. Pal-GQPR may help slow the decline of the skin matrix and stimulate the growth of new cells.

The addition of Matrixyl 3000 to cosmetic skincare products reduces wrinkles and improves the skin‘s elasticity and tone. As an anti-wrinkle ingredient, Matrixyl reduces the density and volume of wrinkles and minimizes sagging of the neck and facial skin. Studies have shown that Matrixyl 3000 reduces wrinkle density by 33%, lessens wrinkle volume by 23%, and decreases wrinkle depth by 20%.

Matrixyl 3000 helps rejuvenate the skin‘s dermal area, thereby fighting wrinkles. This ingredient helps stimulate collagen production, which in turn helps to produce a more even and luminous skin tone while increasing the thickness of the skin‘s outer layer. The creams formulated with Matrixyl 3000 penetrate deeply into the skin where they can retain the moisture the skin needs.

This ingredient also aids in fighting free radicals, in evening skin tones, increasing skin‘s thickness, keeping moisture in and making the skin feel firmer and healthier. In addition to Matrixyl 3000, some cosmetic skin products include other antioxidants such as copper peptides, marine collagen, grape, tea, and/or algae.
